Thousands Fail to Receive their Social Security Payments Due to a Systems Glitch.

The Social Security Administration released a notice recently, that on December 1, 2015 approximately 18,773 SSI recipients did not receive their recurring monthly SSI payments.  Upon looking into the issue, the SSA discovered a systems coding issue that prevented the release of the payments.

According to SSA, they are aware of the issue and working to re-release the payments.  Electronic payments should have been deposited on 12/3/15.  Paper checks will take 5-7 business days.  If you have questions, you should speak with your local office if you have a dire situation.
